Appointments are made online, 24 hours a day. Choose a slot and enter your details — that is all.
We see patients by appointment. If there is space we will see you without one, but booked patients are seen first, so the wait can be long.
If you come without an appointment, please come earlier in the day. Last reception on weekdays is 18:30, and the late afternoon is usually taken by booked patients.
Which days are busy follows a simple rule: the more days we are closed, the more people arrive when we reopen. Sunday is a closed day, so Mondays are busy. When public holidays run together, that demand lands on the next working day — the longer the break, the busier the day after. After Golden Week in early May, or after the September holidays, every slot is taken by booked patients. The day after a single public holiday is busy for the same reason.
The first days of the month are busy too: the monthly paperwork for sick-leave allowance falls due, so those visits cluster.
On those days, coming without an appointment is unlikely to work.

Your health insurance card
A Japanese health insurance card, or a My Number card registered for insurance use. National Health Insurance (国民健康保険) and employee insurance are both accepted.
Any medication you are taking
Bring the medication itself, or the pharmacy information sheet. This matters even for medication unrelated to mental health.
Records from a previous doctor, if you have them
A referral letter is helpful but not required. Notes, prescriptions or test results from abroad are also useful.
- If you do not have Japanese health insurance, you can still be seen. The visit is then charged at the full self-pay rate. Please ask at reception.
- A short intake form is given at reception. It is written in Japanese, and your doctor will go through it with you in English.
On the day3. What happens on the day
You are not called by name. Reception gives you a number, and that number is used from arrival through to payment.
The waiting room is divided by partitions so that patients do not face one another. You can choose where to sit. More about the waiting room（日本語）
In the consultation, your doctor will ask what brought you in, how long it has been going on, and what your days look like. You do not have to have the words ready. If there is something you would rather not talk about today, you can say so.
- If medication is prescribed, you take the prescription to any pharmacy. The pharmacy charges separately.
- Follow-up appointments can be booked before you leave, or later online.

- Tests, if needed, are charged separately. Medication is paid at the pharmacy.

- If you continue treatment long term, a public scheme called 自立支援医療 (Services and Supports for Persons with Disabilities Act) can reduce your share from 30% to 10%. Details（日本語） — or simply ask your doctor.
- Cash, credit card (single payment only) and IC cards (iD, Rakuten Edy, Suica, PASMO) are accepted.
Good to knowA few things worth knowing
You will see the same doctor each time on weekdays. You will not have to explain your history again from the beginning at every visit.
Both of our doctors are registered under Japan's ADHD medication distribution system, which is required to prescribe Concerta or Vyvanse. More on ADHD.
