Our doctors examine and treat you in English, without an interpreter.
In psychiatry, language is not just how you describe the problem — it is the clinical material. A hesitation, a word chosen over another, the way a sentence trails off: these carry meaning. They are also the first things lost in translation.
It matters in another way too. When no third person is in the room, there are fewer things you have to leave unsaid.
Consultations in English are a regular part of our practice.
What we can do for you
Japanese health insurance accepted
We are a contracted clinic under the Japanese public health insurance system. Bring your insurance card (健康保険証 / My Number card) and you pay the standard co-payment.
Medical certificates in English
For your employer, for sick leave, for a return-to-work plan, or to carry your medication abroad. Medication is listed by its international non-proprietary name, so it is recognised outside Japan. This is routine work at our clinic.
Concerta can be prescribed here
In Japan, Concerta and Vyvanse can only be prescribed by doctors registered with the national ADHD distribution management system. Both of our doctors are registered, on weekdays and Saturdays alike.
Psychological assessment
Carried out in-house by our clinical psychologists under Japanese public health insurance, and only when the doctor judges it necessary. You are never required to undergo testing before being seen.
We treat depression, adjustment disorder, anxiety and panic disorder, social anxiety, OCD, insomnia, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, ADHD, and cognitive decline in older adults.
You will not be called by name
The waiting room is partitioned, so patients do not sit facing one another.
From reception through consultation to payment, you are identified by a number, not your name. Your name is never called out inside the clinic.
Booking — online, in a few taps
You do not need to make a phone call. First visits and follow-ups can both be booked online, 24 hours a day. From your second visit, you can also change or cancel appointments yourself.

- Last registration on weekdays is 18:30.
- We see patients by appointment. If there is space we will see you without one, but booked patients are seen first. In that case, please come earlier in the day — the late afternoon is usually full. The first working day after a run of public holidays is fully booked; Mondays and the start of the month are next busiest. More on booking.

- On the 2nd and 4th Saturday we close at 12:30.
Your doctors
Only two doctors see patients here — and you will see one of them. Both are Designated Psychiatrists (精神保健指定医), conferred by Japan's Minister of Health, Labour and Welfare under the Mental Health Act after several years of psychiatric practice, and carrying the legal authority to determine whether hospitalisation is required. Both are registered to prescribe Concerta, and both consult in English.

If weekdays are difficult, Saturday is available. Dr. Aoki also consults in English, and diagnoses and treats ADHD.
